More Hilton Head

After a whirl wind week of returning home and grad class, I am finally finding the time to post the rest of our pics. Brady is becoming more and more interested in "rides" and arcade games. Here he is riding the tow truck while we were out shopping.

Arcade basketball was a HUGE hit at Fuddruckers one day when we stopped for lunch. Brady could not get enough.
He was constantly bending down trying to figure out how the whole thing worked and where those balls were coming from.
I think Daddy and Grandpa had just as much fun as Brady did!

Following our outing, we headed back for nap time. There was a bit of commotion coming from the room so Andy went in to check it out. This is what he found. Little feet sticking out from under the blind. Brady was watching some kids play shuffle board outside his window.

Hilton Head Part 4

Today was spent at the pool and the beach. A nice low key kind of day...what vacation is all about. Here is Brady wearing Grandpa's sunglasses.

Playing in the waves with mommy tonight. Brady loved sitting in the sand and letting the waves come up and splash him. We were there close to high tide tonight, so we saw some good ones.

Alex must be on a growth spurt because the last two days he has wanted to eat constantly. After 6 oz. before bedtime tonight and a bit of fussy time, he crashed and fell asleep on the ottoman! Didn't look comfy to me, but he was out.

Hilton Head Part 3 - Bye Bye Waves

Mothers have ideas... Ideas of how things should be in a perfect world. My mom and I talked and thought, "Gosh, wouldn't it be wonderful to get a family picture on the beach while we are on our trip?" We discussed, planned the outfits, and had this surreal idea of how things would go. We didn't plan on the wind, the screaming children, the hungry infant, the bright sun... Our "perfect" pictures didn't turn out so perfect. I have countless pictures of windblown hair and screaming children to show for our great "idea." Here is the best of all my gems.

Another great mommy idea. I wanted the perfect picture of my boys. Brady holding Alex in the sand with the dunes in the background. Yeah right. Brady dumped Alex right in the sand and we had two unhappy children. We gave it one more try on the boat. Andy got this one just before Brady pushed Alex off of him and said "All done!"

Following pictures, we thought that a little playtime was in order. Grandma and Grandpa graciously kept Alex for us and we headed back to the beach with Brady. We had a blast. Here are a few pics from the evening.

Hilton Head Part 2

On Tuesday night we headed to Shelter Cove for the weekly festivies. We had a great fresh seafood dinner on the water, wandered through a few shops, listened to live music, and watched some fireworks. Brady kept saying that Charles was putting them on and was disappointed when they were finished. To his credit, they were super short, but fun!

Brady is sporting his fish and fishing pole as a hat that we got from a guy doing balloons for the kids near the outdoor music stage.

Brady has a new game of choice this week. Yep, shuffleboard. There is one right by the pool. He is surprisingly good at this.

Wednesday we headed to Harbor Town. This is Brady and Andy waiting for the trolley to pick us up and give us a ride down to the harbor.

Andy, Brady, and my Dad made the 100+ stair climb up the lighthouse steps for a look around the harbor. My mom and I stayed back with Alex and found some shade.

Hilton Head Part 1

About 24 hours of driving later we finally arrived in Hilton Head, SC last Sunday night for a vacation with my parents. The boys were awesome travelers. Thanks to Andy's parents we were able to take their van which meant that one of us could ride in back with the boys to help out with entertainment and bottle feedings. Here are our troopers in the car!

Praise God for portable DVD players! It was an investment worth every penny for this trip.
Sunday night when we arrived we had a quick dinner and headed straight to the ocean. Brady was amazed. Then sun was going down, so my pictures from this night are dark, but here is Brady's first dip (toes only this day) in the ocean!

We have spent part of every day playing at the pool. Brady loves playing catch and splashing in the kiddie pool. He likes it because we don't have to hold onto him in this pool.

At the pool, Brady and Grandma have been best buddies.

Though he has hardly used the goggles in the water at all, the $1 they cost was worth it just for this picture. I thought it was hilarious!

Brady has loved playing baseball in the hallway of our condo. The other night he insisted that he wear daddy hat while he played.

Coos and Grins

Alex is begining to "talk" more and more every day. He coos and grins and we have even heard a couple little giggles. It is precious.

Following our trip to Milwaukee, Brady's six favorite toys lately have been his Racing Sausages and Bernie. Here he is giving the bunch a snuggle.

Before we left for South Carolia, Brady discovered where I keep Alex's tub. He climbed right in and pretended to give himself a tub. It was hilarious.
A few short minutes later he was giving his sausages and Bernie a tub. Even more funny!
