Demolition Derby

Sunday evening Andy and Grandpa Johnson treated the boys to a little guy time.  Yep, a demolition derby.  Andy said, "This was a fantastic idea!"  The boys had so much fun watching the cars smash and crash...and then be towed off the course.  :)

SummerFest

Last Saturday evening, we heade down to Phoenix Park for a special event for kids during SummerFest.  They had a movie and popcorn for kids in the park with balloon animals.  The boys were excited aobut them, but why are they looking in the sky you ask?

 The park, full of families, lit and released Japanese wish lanterns like in the movie Tangled!  We love this movie and it was really fun to light and release our own lanterns.  Such a beautiful sight!  I don't know who was more excited...the kids or ME!

 It was a really neat thing to do as a family.  Many, many lanterns.  Unfortunately, they couldn't all be let go at the same time.

 I think Anna enjoyed it too!

Lego Fever Begins!

We officially have Lego fever at our house!  Andy has recently begun playing Lego Star Wars on the PS3 with Brady and he LOVES it.  Needless to say, our day trip to MOA had to include a long stop at Legoland!  The gigantic transformer was a huge hit.

Bloomer Fair

We headed north tonight to the Bloomer Fair.  Andy's coworker suggested that we go and check it out and I'm so glad we did!  A smaller fair for sure, but still lots of great fun and best of all not as expensive.

 Brady was having fun with grandpa.  I had to laugh that Brady made this look like a Mr. Dew commerial.  He was pretty excited about his soda...he even mentioned it in his bedtime prayers as something he was thankful for today.  :)

 The boys hit up some rides tonight.  The favorite of the night was the kid scrambler.

 Diane and I enjoyed our annual funnel cake.  These were crazy huge.  It took everyone working on them and we still didn't finish them.

 Our family shot.  A great night at the fair.  According to Brady it was a "fun, fun, fun night!": Freezie, soda, and he won a sword and a water gun.  What more could a boy ask for?

Let the Games Begin!

Andy and I love watching the Olympics.  We were excited for the opening of the summer games in London and wanted to do something fun with the kids.  We did some crafts on the day of the opening ceremonies.  We made Olympic crowns and medals for each kiddo.  Brady was super excited about these!  I also printed some coloring pages I found online so the boys could learn more about how the Olympics worked.

 Anna's newest trick has been to run around with her shirt in her mouth.  Lovely isn't it?  She was pretty cute in her team USA red, white, and blue!  We also made and played an Olympic Ring toss game.  No good pics of that though.

 Alex was just plain happy.  It was a fun way to kick off the Olympics!

Given the large number of teeth in this little one's mouth, we thought we had better get brushing.  A little weird for her the first time, but overall she did great.  Love her facial expressions!

Anna's Masterpiece

This little girl got her first chance at the "big kid" crayons today.  She had so much fun.  Giggles, squeals, and shouts of joy erupted from her from the minute she began until she was finished.

 Studying every color, she moved them back and forth from hand to hand and made both dots and lines on the paper.

Angry Bird Night!

I officially declared last night Angry Bird Night! in our house.  We were in need of a little family fun and the kids had a blast!

 We had Angry Bird Pizza for dinner.  The boys were so excited.

 Pizza!  I covered the whole pizza with sauce and cheese.  The topped the parts I wanted read with pepperoni.  I used a slice of american cheese cut to size for the beak, more cheese for the eyes, and sausage for the eye pupils and eye brows.  Super easy and fun!

 Brady shouts "Mom!  You made a level!"  ...of the game that is.

This pig snack was made of pea pods, carrots, pretzels, cheese and cucumbers.  It was gone in minutes and the boys thought it was great.

 Following dinner we played three Angry Bird games - no video games either.  Our first was Bird Ball.  No pictures of this one unfortunately, there was just too much going on!  We used our stuffed birds and basketball hoop to play Bird Ball!
