Slobber-puss

Does he really need a bib all the time you ask? The answer is yes. Check out all the slobber in this pictures. Giggling and making our new scrunched up face, Brady was all smiles tonight.

Big Boy PJ's and Toy

It's hard to believe that Brady is almost 9 months old. As he is getting older, and longer, we are having a hard time finding pj's that fit! These are a pair of his new "big boy" jammies. So cute!
Brady got this Sesame Street ride/walk toy for Christmas from Grandma and Grandpa Johnson. It has been in the closet waiting for him to get older and tonight Daddy got it out. Brady was enthralled with it. He giggled, climbed, crashed, and pushed it around his bedroom. It was a blast.
Standing with Daddy's protection for the next crash.
All giggles as he makes it to his feet again.

New Talents

Brady has had quite an eventful week. I snapped a few pictures tonight in order to capture some of his new skills. I was only partially successful. Brady clapped his hands for the first time today. Once he figured out he could do it, he hasn't stopped. Of course, do you think I could get a picture of him doing it? No. Instead he just giggled at me trying to get him to do it. What a cutie!

The biggest news of the week is that Brady is pulling himself up to standing constantly! I can't believe it! He is climbing on everything and never sits still. I guess it is time to lower that matress in the crib!
Checking out what is on the table.

New Discoveries

Brady's new discovery this week is that he can take the nightlights in the hallway apart. How fun is that? I am not too pleased about this new found talent because he then pulls on the light bulb and plug. Not the safest thing... Brady finds this intriguing though.

Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday was a crazy day for us. Brady was all decked out in a new outfit, super cute, and we headed off to church. We swung by saw both sets of grandparents following our service and then Andy got SUPER sick. I tried to snap a few pictures of Brady with his Easter basket, but he was not too photogenic. This will be one of his outfits for his 9month pictures, so hopefully those will turn out better.

Our trip to the Omaha Zoo

Brady made his first trip to the zoo today! It was such a fun day and Brady did a great job keeping up with all the activities. He loved looking at all the animals and talking to them too. There was lots of excitement and we truly wore ourselves (Brady more than the rest of us) out.
I took Brady for a ride on the gorillas today. He thought it was pretty fun.
You've got to love the wonder in his eyes...

Crashing hard in the afternoon...
Did you notice the monkey's on his outfit? (Check the hood) Love it!

No trip is complete without Andy taking a totally random, totally bizarre picture. Need I say more?
Brady was a fan of the fish. This tank was a neat one because with the glass at an angle, he could get right up to see the fishies.

Brady checking out the jelly fish. Cool!

To finish off our day Brady came home with a new stuffed monkey! He loved watching them at the zoo, so this was a fun souvenir to take home.

Travelin' Man

Well, we made it. We made the 8 hour trek to Lincoln, NE to visit Lisa and we made it there in one piece! On the way there we stopped by Eagan, MN and spent the night with Aunt Jen and Uncle Jerry. Then it was on to Winterset, IA where we paid my grandma a visit. It was so wonderful to see her! She surprised us with dinner at her house. Not just any dinner either, she made ham balls, which is our traditional Christmas dinner. It was fabulous. We had fun playing at her house for a while before hitting the road again and heading on to Lisa's.

This picture has great significance to me. At grandma's Brady got to use the highchair that my mom used growing up and that I used when I was a baby also. It is crazy to think that grandma paid $5 for it and that it has seen three generations of babies in our family! So neat...
This is the old wooden rocking chair that I used to rock in when I was little. As you can see, Brady enjoyed it too! Gram thought his giggle was just precious.
Gram and Brady hanging out before it was time to go.
Brady was a trooper in the car and we are having a great time here with Aunt Lisa. This was Brady this morning on this beautiful sunny day. He was all grins today and full of giggles too.
Tonight for dinner we headed to Lazlo's, one of Lisa's favorite local places. It is a micro-brew, so we of course sampled all the homemade brews. Brady spent his time chewing on his favorite giraffe. Tomorrow we head to the Omaha zoo. We can't wait!

He Made Me Do It...

Yes, I am so proud. On our first day here in Lincoln, we headed to the Strategic Air and Space Museum with Andy's sister Lisa. This museum is filled with planes that were flown in various wars as well as a cool exhibit on space flight. Andy was thrilled when he found a plane that he could climb into and pretend to fly. This is him being dramatic and he insisted that I put it on the blog. Enjoy his craziness!

My Boys

We thought this picture was super cute and really captures Brady's newest skill. He loves to pull himself up onto his knees and can actually balance really well.
It was too cute. Yesterday morning Andy asked me to dress Brady in his new brown sweatshirt with jeans. I wasn't really sure why, but I did it. When I saw Andy after his shower in the morning I found him wearing a matching outfit to Brady. I just had to smile. Here are my matching boys.

So Big!

After Brady finished dinner the other night we were playing in his highchair and Andy snapped a few pictures of our little giggle box. We were practicing putting our arms up in the air and saying "So Big." Brady was full of laughs and Andy captured this one. That smile just melts your heart.

Yes, we said everything

Remember how I have been saying that Brady chews on everything? Well this proves it. His favorite thing to chew on in the kitchen is the metal bar stools. It drives me crazy! He pulls himself up onto his knees and then gnaws on the metal. I am so afraid that he is going to fall and hurt himself. Worse yet, you can hear his teeth on the metal. No matter what we do we cannot get him to stop. You have got to love the picture though!

Sour Stuff

Our food adventures continue. Brady's food of the week is applesauce and he is NOT a fan. We could not believe the sour face that he showed us on Tuesday night when he tried it for the first time. Here is a snapshot of the face we got with each and every bit. No, he is not crying. He is gagging! Now he has resorted to keeping it in his mouth for a second or two and then spitting it out back at you. Ah, the joys of new foods!

Exploring...

Brady loves being on the move! He is a crawling machine now and gets where he wants to go pretty quickly. Yikes, we need to get our gates installed quickly! He is also sitting himself up. It is amazing to see how fast things are changing with him! This week Brady got time to explore the kitchen, on numerous evenings, while mommy was making dinner. He played with the tupperware and found a plastic pitcher one day. He enjoys getting into the cupboards, opening drawers, trying to stand up on anything he can grab, and chewing on the bar stools. The kitchen is one exciting place!

Check out the drool hanging from his chin! Brady has been teething a lot again and we still only have two teeth. We are hoping some more break through soon.
