Halloween 2009

Halloween was fun this year! Brady totally gets dressing up, going trick-or-treating, and most importantly what CANDY is all about. Here are my boys tonight...a chicken and a monkey with daddy.
My favorite picture of my monkey. That smile just makes me melt!
My chicken...all ready for trick-or-treating.
The view of that stuffed little body from the back was too cute.
We ended our night at Grandma and Grandpa Schwartzhoff's. These were too tired little boys by this point in the night...as you can see, Alex is asleep.
We will get to trick-or-treat one more time this next week when Grandma and Grandpa Johnson are back from their vacation.

Look what just went up in my yard...

Moving!!!

I am still pinching myself this morning. In the mater of a week, we put an offer in on a new home and sold ours. Yes, sold ours. I know, there wasn't even a sign in the yard. Our realtor knew we were going to list and showed it to a couple who was in town Wednesday and they wrote us an offer! We couldn't believe it! Through this whole house search, we have given this to God and prayed that He would either open all the doors to make this work or to slam them in our faces so that we would not make a mistake...He has clearly opened all the doors. It is amazing what He can do!
So, we are looking at closing on both houses on the same day...December 16. I am not nuts about moving right before Christmas, but that is how the timing is all working out. I told Andy, the first order of business in our new house will be to put up the Christmas tree! It is Alex's first Christmas and he will not have Christmas without a tree in his home! I think ours will fit for height, but I have a feeling that it is way too big around for our new living room. Hopefully we will be able to get a picture that I can post soon of the outside at least. All I can say is WOW...we have a lot of work ahead of us in the next two months!

Jumperoo!

Andy got Alex's jumperoo out this weekend. To date this has to be one of my favorite pictures of Alex. I just love the smile!
Big brother Brady was very quick to teach his little brother how all the toys on the jumperoo work. Alex has it mastered after just a few short days. He was even jumping last night. So fun!

Halloween Projects

Last week we did some fun Halloween projects. Brady and I made ghosts and bats with googley eyes. He had a blast doing them. We also did a foam haunted house. I am hoping to do cut-out cookies yet this week!
Favorite snack of the week: CHEX MIX!

DRUMS!!

"Want to play daddy's drums!" We hear these words now every day. A few nights ago Andy busted out his Rock Band drums for Brady to play with and he was in heaven. He played with them all night and would not even put the sticks down. I think we can say with certainty, Brady will definitely be a drummer.

Fall Photos

I love taking fall pictures. Try as I might to get one of them together, Brady simply would not stay put. I did get a great one of each munchkin by themselves though.

I'm so excited!

We finally got a nice day to head to the pumpkin patch! Brady was in his words "so excited!" He hit the ground running when we got there, started picking up pumpkins and loading them into a wagon.
Last year he rode in the wagon, this year he ran with it!
Our excited little boy!
Yes, Alex was there. He just slept the whole time we were there.
In addition to the pumpkins, Brady fed the goats with Uncle Jerry and Aunt Jen.
We attempted a photo...Brady was just not all that interested.

Blugold Homecoming

Saturday morning we hit the Blugold Homecoming parade with my family. It was a chilly morning, but fun. Brady had breakfast on the curb while sporting daddy hat. He was thrilled when the Blugold marching band stopped right in front of us...yep the drums were only a few feet in front of him. He was in heaven!
Alex was all bundled up! Thanks for keeping me cozy warm, Uncle Jerry!

Gosh, they look alike!

I was thrilled to get out this cute coat again! Funny when you look back at the baby pictures of Brady how much they look alike!
Can you tell who is who?

What Alex is up to...

Our little Alex is finally beginning to nap well! Most days he drifts off to slumberland for a good 1 1/2 nap in the morning and in the afternoon. Yeah!
I found my toes! Any time Alex is on his back lately, he is very into the grabbing at his toes and playing with them. So cute.
Smiles, smiles, and more smiles. Alex is such a happy baby. Unfortunately the drooling phase is beginning and with it those nasty bibs. I bet we'll have some teeth pretty soon!

What Brady's up to...

Brady continues to make us smile. He is still really into baseball even though we no longer watch it every day. Lately when we play catch, he is the catcher. Check out this new stance!
He is so into his imagination. We pretend all the time now. The other morning while I was baking, Brady began pulling random items out of the cupboard and bringing them to the table. When I asked him what he was doing he told me "Making breakfast." He proceeded to pretend pour the ingredients together, stir, and then eat them. Too cute!
As a two year old, Brady wants to be VERY independent. We hear "Do it myself!" many times a day. His new thing is that he needs to have all of his food whole...no cutting up any more.

Our Big Boy

The look on Alex's face is too funny in this picture! He is getting to be so big. I was thrilled that cooler weather has finally come because he was outgrowing all of his clothes! Fleece jammies are the best! Alex is growing like crazy. A couple week's ago at his 4 month appointment he weighed 16lbs. 14 oz. (that's 2 lbs. more than Brady at this age!) and is 25.98 inches long (about the same as Brady was). What a big boy!

SNOW!

October 12 and it has been snowing all day! When I got Brady up this morning he was reading books in bed as usual. When I opened up the window, he promptly shoved his face against the glass and exclaimed "Snow! Mommy, what happened?!"

Goofin' Around

I went to pull pictures of the camera this afternoon and discovered a collection of these. They are too funny. I'm not sure what Andy and Brady were up to, but they are pretty cute.

Grandma and Grandpa Wall's 60th Anniversary

Yesterday we loaded up and headed to Holmen to celebrate Andy's grandparents 60th wedding anniversary. It was a great day spent with family.
Brady still loves to drum. Yeah for straws!
The whole family
The happy couple. 60 years together...what a blessing!
Our family with grandma and grandpa
We went to Drugan's for brunch following church. It is a Norwegian themed supper club. Brady enjoyed sitting on the trolls knee.
Alex enjoyed a little time with his Great Grandma.
