Alex is awake!

Alex actually spent some time awake today. It was wonderful! Yesterday, he basically slept all day. We have had to wake him up to eat. For the first time, he cried when he was hungry tonight. Progress.

Here is one of the first photos with open eyes!

Mommy and Alex enjoying a little time together this evening after all of our visitors left.

Asleep again...full tummy, cozy daddy, what more could a kid want?
Brady, showing off his "I'm a big brother" shirt.
Baby brothers are cool, but so is mommy's giant water bottle! Brady spent lots of time drinking from mommy's water tonight while he was here...dont' worry, Alex got a little of attention too.

He's Here!

The newest addition, Alex Robert Johnson, was born early this morning at 2:51am! He weighs
8 lbs. 11 oz. and is 21 1/2 inches long. It was a long day for me. My contractions were regular by 10am, though I finished my day at school. We were at the hospital a little before 11pm last night and then Alex was born just before 3am. He is perfect. Both he and I are in good health and we couldn't have asked for anything more.

Early this morning after Alex's first bath.
Proud Daddy and Alex just after 3am.

All cozy.
Big brother Brady meets Alex for the first time. This was priceless. Brady was so excited to meet his baby brother. He wanted to hold him and gave him kisses and snuggles. It was so cute. I know...enjoy it while it lasts!

More later...it's late and time for bed.

Memorial Day

Well, it's been a while since I have posted, so today I am giving you a ton! We have had lots going on lately. A good things perhaps - it's makes the days go by more quickly and that is okay with me!
Today we went to the Memorial Day parade and spent a good part of the day with my family. Jen and Jer were still here and it was great to spend time together. Brady loved seeing all the bands, fire trucks, and flags. He was not too sure of the clowns though.

Pretty soon...

My loving husband insists that we document all aspects of this birth. You all know how I love having my picture taken when I am pregnant...here it is. One week before my due date and we are still hanging in there. Report cards are now done, swelling has begun, sleep is a rare thing already, and we are waiting. Just a few more days to go...I can't wait for my mother's day massage tomorrow night at Lotus Spa!

Weekend fun

Yesterday was a BEAUTIFUL day! After getting a phone call from Jen and Jerry that they were going to come and spend the afternoon/night here in EC, we decided to call both sets of parents and have a cook out. It was tons of fun. Brady got a new t-ball set which he thinks is the coolest thing ever. Here are a couple of pics.
Lovin' his car too.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

I couldn't resist. This picture was just too cute of the boys heading to the game on Saturday night. We headed to the cities for the Brewers/Twins game. Risky, I know...baby is due in a week. No worries, baby is still not here yet.
Our little fan shouted as loud as he could when he saw the team "Go Brewers!" It was too cute.
We went to the Brewer/Twins game when I was pregnant with Brady (almost this far along) and Andy took a picture of me sitting with his glove on my belly. The glove wasn't along this time, so he thought Brady's hat would do the trick.
My boys in their matching tshirts.
A tense moment in the game.
We tried to rally...no luck. Our crew lost....sad day. Brady loved the game though. He got to see Bernie (his favorite) and he ate an entire hotdog! What a fan!
Jen and Jerry joined us for the fun.
Jen served as a drum while we walked back to the car.

My Helpers

Moms are such a great blessing. Brady and my mom were my helpers in planting flowers with/for me this year. Brady was a big helper by putting the rocks in the bottom of the pots and at mixing up the dirt. A dirty, but fun job!
There were plenty of smiles while we planted to. Thanks mom for all your help!
You are the best!

Catch him reading

Someone has figured out that he can reach his bookshelf from his bed. Every day after nap time, or sometimes in the morning, we find our little man reading books in bed after he awakens. What a big boy!

Boys Day Out

On the 14th, Andy, Charles, Matt, and Adam made the trek to Milwaukee for their first Brewer game of the season. They tailgated and had a grand ol' time...just the boys.

Softball Begins

Softball season is underway for Andy. Two weeks ago Brady and I attended his first game for the Bob Johnson Statefarm Insurance Team. Brady was in heaven...all four grandparents, friends, and "baseball?" What more could a kid ask for? Brady even got his own shirt to match the team! Thanks Browner and Grandpa J!
Brady had a hard time when Daddy had to go play and he couldn't go along. We watched from the fence.
Playing catch with Grandma S. kept us occupied during the game.

Uncle Matt Graduates!

Andy's brother Matt graduated from Pharmacy School yesterday. We all made the trip to the cities to witness the big event. He is now officially, Dr. Matt Johnson. We are so proud of him!

Brady was loving Uncle Matt's hat. He wanted him constantly. Brady even managed to say "congratulations" to him when we saw him after the ceremony. Super cute!

Bump

Last weekend Brady took quite a digger into the driveway while playing basketball at a friends place. He was all tears as this huge bump formed on his head. It didn't look pretty. This was later in the day on Sunday..he was over the tears. Minus the bump on his forehead, I love this picture! Unfortunately, I have a feeling this is the first of many "bumps" that Brady will be getting in the years to come.

Opening Day of Fishing

Last weekend, Andy got up WAY too early and headed to Galesville for the annual opening day of fishing. He was thrilled to have caught several 12 inch+ trout. The best opening day the boys have had in a long time.

Mommy was excited...

As an elementary school teacher, I love the fact that Brady loves to read. I was super excited the other day when he was playing with his letters on the fridge. He was lining them up from left to right (no words) and singing the bits and pieces he knows of his ABC's. It was so cute! This is a great beginning sign of a reader. Yeah, Brady!
