Another highlight of our trip was going to the city park where Jen and I used to play when we lived in KC. The girls enjoyed some time on the swings.
Jen and I always loved crossing the water when we were little. Brady thought is was really fun too. Here he is making his way across for the first time with grandma's help.
This is where we always fed the ducks!
It is a beautiful park.
Just having fun.
Alex made his way across with grandpa's help.
The girls.
The upper park of the park is filled with building that are decorated to look like an old town. Kids love playing in them. Jen and I always loved running around in them. Brady put himself in jail.
He put grandpa there too!
Love this picture!
A good family photo!
Mom and Dad
Jen, Jerry, and Emma
Anna was so excited to be on the loose and running!
Grandma and grandpa with the grandkids
When Jen and I were little mom and dad took a picture of us at the park in this tree. It was a favorite of all of ours over the years. We decided we needed a tree shot with the kids too. It was fun to bring my kids to a place that I played when I was Brady's age!
Kansas City is known for it's beautiful fountains.
We spent some time at this one, our favorite in the city.
We weren't wearing pink and purple, but this is like the picture we took when Jen and I were 4 and 6 years old!
Another family photo. Two good ones in one day!!!! That's amazing, folks.
Following the park and fountain visits, we headed to Crown Plaza. Here we had some ice cream and checked out some lego stuff. The boys really like this guy. We also went to the Lego store and they each picked out a new Lego Star Wars toy.
Crown Plaza had a great dinosaur exhibit while we were there that we checked out too. Here is Alex, digging for fossils.
Brady enjoyed playing with the models.
More fossil digging.
Fossil rubbings with grandma.
Brady found a cave.
A troodon nest!
Riding the triceritops.
The last day we were there, I braved taking my camera into the water park. We stayed at a Great Wolf Lodge while we were there, so we spent time at the water park every day. It was the boys favorite part of the trip.
The red slide in the kids area was the boy's favorite. This is Alex.
Here comes Brady.
Anna got in on the fun in the kiddie area too.
Andy took her to the top of the blue kids water slide,
laid her on her back and let her go!
And we caught the giggling baby girl at the bottom. She loved it!
More of Alex.
Brady having fun!
Ahh, the much talked about green bucket. The green bucket is huge. It fills with water and then dumps all over everyone below. The boys loved to watch it, but did not so much care for being under it.
That is the smile of a very happy boy!
Having some fun with daddy.
Pool rats.
Lighting was tough. That is Andy and Alex waiting for the green bucket to dump on them.
There it is!
We loved the water park!
The race car outside our resort.
Heading out from the Great Wolf Lodge. It was a great trip.
Thanks for taking us grandma and grandpa!
